About
As You Are is a private psychiatry (medication management) practice with myself as the sole employee. The primary service I provide is expertise in prescribing psychotropic (for the mind) medication for children and adolescents. I do provide psychotherapy, though this is to a minority of clients. I also see adults, but rarely.
I have experience with the following patient populations:
Autism, Reactive Attachment Disorder, violent behavior, Conduct Disorder, children adjusting to adoption, children with profound trauma.
Also, I treat children with depression, thoughts of suicide, anxiety, ADHD, OCD, and other mental health issues.
My other clinical interests include providing quality medication management to children who have not improved with previous medication trials, educating the public about basic psychological literacy that should be taught in schools.
Mission
To significantly improve the quality of life for as many children and families as possible.
Vision
To be able to save the lives of children at risk of suicide, altering the course of children and teens at high risk of worsening mental health, and contributing to the overall health of the community.
Values
- Making patients feel safe to talk about whatever they want without worrying about judgment.
- Being as transparent as possible in all of my interactions with patients and families.
- Providing excellent care, but being open to critical feedback in order to improve my care for a patient.
- Never making agreements with pharmaceutical companies or other entities that could negatively influence my judgment.
